The intelligence comes first.
The impression comes second.
The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™ is the AI and data intelligence layer behind our work. It uses behavioral data, machine learning and custom algorithms to identify signals of emerging consumer intent, transform those signals into actionable audiences and determine how those audiences can be influenced across channels.
It was built around a simple idea: The ability to buy an impression isn’t the competitive advantage. Knowing which impressions are worth buying is.
Since 2018
MarketStorm has approached advertising as an AI and data problem
Long before AI became standard marketing language, we were using algorithms to understand consumer behavior and make audience decisions before media activation began.
Most advertising AI Optimizes the Ad. We
Start With the Audience.
AI is rapidly becoming embedded throughout advertising technology. It can optimize bids, choose placements, rotate creative, predict conversions and determine which available impression should be purchased. Those are valuable applications of AI, but they generally begin after the advertiser has entered the media ecosystem.
The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™ starts further upstream. We use AI and behavioral data to help answer a more fundamental question: Who should we be trying to influence in the first place?
Demographics can tell us who someone is. Predefined audience categories can tell us what group someone resembles. Behavioral signals can help us understand what may be becoming important to someone right now. That difference matters because intent changes. Someone who was irrelevant to a business last month can become extremely relevant today.
Our technology is designed to
recognize that change.

From Behavioral Signals to Audience Intelligence
The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™ continuously evaluates behavioral signals that may indicate a developing need, interest or problem state. Our algorithms look for patterns within those signals that can help distinguish emerging intent from broad demographic fit.
Those patterns become the foundation for custom audiences built around the business objective, market and consumer behaviors that matter.

Learning
Signals provide information. Our algorithms help interpret those signals as potential intent. That intelligence informs the audience. An initial ad is served, giving MarketStorm the opportunity to verify that the audience member is human rather than automated traffic. Once verified, that consumer can continue through MarketStorm’s cross-channel intelligence system.
The result is not simply automated media buying. It is a continuous intelligence process built around understanding and influencing consumer behavior.
Intent Retargeting:
We Don’t Have to Wait for the Website Visit
Traditional retargeting usually starts after someone visits a website. By then, the consumer has already demonstrated a very explicit form of intent.
MarketStorm can begin earlier.
Once behavioral intelligence has identified potential intent, an initial ad is served. That allows us to human-verify the audience member. A verified consumer can then become eligible for Intent Retargeting, allowing MarketStorm to continue reaching that audience across available programmatic channels without waiting for a website visit.
TRADITIONAL RETARGETING
Typically begins after someone visits a website.
MARKETSTORM INTENT RETARGETING
Can begin before the website visit – after the audience member has been human-verified.
We previously referred to this capability as Midfunnel Retargeting. Intent Retargeting better reflects what the technology actually does because consumers don’t move neatly through a funnel. Intent and influence interact continuously as people research, discover, compare, reconsider and eventually act.
One Audience Intelligence Layer Across Channels
The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™ was designed for cross-channel activation.
An audience doesn’t
become a different audience because someone stops browsing and starts watching television. Nor does the consumer
cease to matter because they leave their television and get into a car.
The same underlying audience
intelligence can inform activation across all channels.
Each environment has a different role. CTV provides sight, sound, motion and storytelling. Display creates persistent visual influence across the digital world. Native reaches consumers while they’re reading and exploring. Streaming Audio extends influence into moments when screens disappear. DOOH brings the strategy into the physical world and can create audiences that subsequently move into digital activation.
The channels are different, but they are not isolated. The channel can change without losing the audience.
The Intent & Influence Layer
The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™ primarily operates in what we call the Intent & Influence Layer — the part of the consumer journey before demand becomes explicit.
A consumer recognizes a problem. Research begins. Information creates influence. Influence changes what the consumer considers. New research strengthens or changes intent. Brands become familiar. Preferences begin to form.
Eventually, that developing intent becomes actionable demand. The consumer searches. Visits a website. Looks at Maps. Calls. Books. Walks into a store. Makes a purchase. Those demand-capture environments are an essential part of the ecosystem. MarketStorm is designed to influence what happens before the consumer reaches them. That is why we don’t need to compete with demand capture.
We help influence the demand that eventually gets captured.
Influence That Isn’t Defined by a Media Network
Advertising platforms change constantly. Targeting options appear and disappear. Networks evolve. Inventory shifts. Platforms increasingly automate decisions that advertisers once controlled manually.
The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™ is designed so that our core audience strategy doesn’t begin with the
targeting menu of any single media network.
It begins with consumer behavior.
That gives us a more durable foundation. The platforms available for activation may evolve, but the fundamental question remains the same: Who is demonstrating the behaviors that matter to this business right now? Our intelligence isn’t defined by the network where an ad happens to appear.
The media ecosystem can change while the audience strategy remains consistent
Technology Above
the Activation Layer
MarketStorm works with leading advertising technology platforms to activate media. Those platforms provide critical infrastructure: access to inventory, bidding technology, media delivery and other capabilities required to participate in the programmatic ecosystem.
The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™ serves a different purpose.
It is the
intelligence layer we bring to that infrastructure.
Our behavioral data, algorithms, audience methodology, human verification, Intent Retargeting and cross-channel strategy determine how we use activation technology. Think of the relationship as a technology stack.

The infrastructure is important. But infrastructure and intelligence
are not the same thing.
Measurement Completes the Intelligence Cycle
The Engine doesn’t stop working when an impression is served. Consumer response creates additional information.
Someone may see a CTV commercial and later search for the brand. Another consumer may encounter Display advertising and visit the website directly. Someone exposed through DOOH may subsequently demonstrate behavioral intent and become part of a digital audience.
Where available identity and measurement signals support it, MarketStorm can observe subsequent activity and use what we learn to better understand the consumer journey. This creates a continuing cycle: behavioral signals inform audiences, audiences are activated, consumers respond, and those responses create additional intelligence.
We don’t simply activate audiences. We learn from what happens next.
- 01
Activate
Audience reaches media across CTV, Display, DOOH, and more. - 02
Respond
Consumers take action, online or offline. - 03

These signals create new intelligence to refine audiences and strategy.
A STRONGER, MORE INFORMED AUDIENCE STRATEGY
Built Around Human Behavior, Not an Industry
The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™ wasn’t built for one vertical, one business model or one company size.
It was built around something they all share: human behavior.
The behaviors indicating intent for a national consumer brand may be completely different from those that matter to a franchise organization, healthcare business, retailer, professional service company or private equity portfolio company.
The geography may change. The business objective may change. The consumer problem may change. The behaviors indicating intent may change. The intelligence adapts.
That allows MarketStorm to build strategies around the market rather than forcing every market into the same predefined audience model.

An Intelligence
Company Operating in
the Marketing Space
Book a Demo Talk to MarketStorm MarketStorm uses programmatic advertising, but programmatic advertising isn’t the best description of what we’ve built. The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™ sits at the center of our work. Programmatic provides the infrastructure to activate it. CTV, Display, Native, Streaming Audio and DOOH provide environments where influence can happen. Measurement helps us understand what happens next. Together, they create a system designed around the way consumers actually behave.
We identify signals before demand becomes obvious. We use AI and custom algorithms to understand emerging intent. We build audiences around that intelligence. We human-verify those audiences. We continue influencing them across channels. And we learn as the journey develops.
That’s why MarketStorm is better understood as an AI and data company operating in the marketing space.
The advertising is what consumers see.
The MarketStorm Intelligence Engine™
is what makes it intelligent.
